Radford Shows Improvement, Jumps Four Spots in Second Round

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Radford women's golf team improved by five strokes from the first round in Monday's second round at the Kiawah Island Classic.

The Highlanders shot 17-over for the round (305) after shooting 22-over (310) in Sunday's first round and are tied for 22nd out of 41 teams.

Sidney Walker leads the way for Radford after shooting an even-par 72 Tuesday. Walker had four birdies on the round, including three on the front nine, and is tied for 33rd through the first 36 holes at 5-over.

Jayde Dudley and Natalie Welsh are second and third on the team at 8-over and 9-over, respectively. Welsh improved by three shots from her first-round score, posting a 3-over 75 Monday with three birdies. Dudley shot 5-over for the day.

Riko Nagai had two birdies and an eagle on the day, improving on her first-round score by three strokes. Nagai's eagle came on the ninth hole.

Overall, Dallas Baptist leads the tournament at 7-under and has an 18-shot lead on second-place Northern Illinois. Murray State's Raeysha Surendran leads all players at 7-under, three shots better than DBU's Faith DeLaGarza.
