Street Starts Career Off Strong at William & Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Freshman Caleigh Street was phenomenal in the third round of the William & Mary Invitational on Monday, shooting even to finish the tournament tied for 29^th, the best of any player on the Radford Women's Golf team.

Street improved her score in each round of the tournament, which was the first of her collegiate career. In her final round of action, she buried a pair of birdies and shot for Par on 14 holes on a course where only six competitors shot even or below.

Senior Natalie Welsh secured her third straight round shooting in the 70's to open the season, finishing the tournament tied for 42^nd with a +12. She birdied the Par 5 7^th hole on Monday, bringing her 3-round total to a team-leading eight birdies.

Riko Nagai moved up in the standings as well, jumping four spots on the final day following a 6-over par 78. The Yokohama, Japan native's best highlight came when she sunk a birdie on the 12^th hole.

Wrapping up the scoring were freshmen Kaitlyn Mosdell and junior Jayde Dudley, who faced their fair share of challenges on Monday. Sophomore Niki Batac once again played as an individual.

As a team, the Highlanders shot +68 to place 14^th in an extremely talented field of golfers.

UP NEXT
Radford is right back at it next week when the team heads to Greenville, N.C. for the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina. The first two rounds will be on Monday, Sept. 20 followed by a third round on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
