Radford Finishes First Fall Tournament

BLACKSBURG, VA. – The Radford women's tennis program wrapped up a three-day tournament at the Virginia Tech Invitational Sunday afternoon with many Highlanders seeing their first action of the season.
In doubles play the Highlanders had a rough start but rebounded strong on day two. Malin Falk and Emily Brandow picked up a win against West Virginia State while Marielle Leahy and Camryn McClure collected a win against Bluefield State. Salma Loudili and Melissa Ifidzhen picked up a big doubles win on the final day of competition against Liberty.
In singles play, Loudili picked up where she left off last season on day one with a win against ETSU. Emily Brandow picked up a singles win on day one as well against Bluefield State. McClue advanced past her Liberty opponent due to a default and picked up a great win in straight sets over Virginia Tech. Leahy also picked up a win in straight sets against her Hokie opponent.
Ifidzhen and Falk both picked up wins in straight sets against Bluefield State on day two. Leahy added another win against a Virginia Tech opponent on day two as well. On the final day of competition in singles play, McClure picked up yet another win against West Virginia State. Falk, Loudili and Ifidzhen all also picked up a singles win against Bluefield State on Sunday.

Radford will travel to Charleston, W.V. for the Thunder in the Mountains tournament which runs from September 24th to September 26th.
