Roe, Walters Sign NLI's With Radford Men's Basketball

RADFORD, Va. – Radford men's basketball head coach Darris Nichols has announced the signing of Trevor Roe of Trenton Walters to National Letters of Intent. The duo will join the Highlanders as true freshmen for the 2023-24 season.

Trevor Roe | 6'8" | Forward | Syracuse, N.Y. | Fayetteville-Manlius High School

Roe comes to Radford from Fayetteville-Manlius High School where he was coached by Luke Tucci. A First Team All-League and First Team All-CNY (Central New York) selection, he also played AAU ball for the NY Jayhawks and coach Jay David, as well as for the Albany City Rocks and coach Jim Hart.

The lengthy forward has basketball in his blood, as his father Matt Roe played at Syracuse (1986-89) and Maryland (1989-90). Roe's sister, Lexie, is currently a sophomore guard at Niagara University.

Coach Nichols on Roe: "We are looking forward to adding Trevor to the Highlander family. He is a hard-working person and player that fits in with what we have built and continue to build at Radford. Trevor comes from a basketball family with his dad playing at Maryland and his sister currently playing at Niagara."

Trenton Walters | 5'9" | Guard | Frisco, Texas | La Lumiere School

After spending three years at Liberty High School, Walters makes his way to the New River Valley after playing his senior season at La Lumiere School for coach Patrick Holmes. He also played for the John Lucas Elite (JL3) on the Nike EYBL circuit.

Walters was a unanimous First Team All-District selection at Liberty and has eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in his career. 24/7 Sports notes that he was also offered by programs such as Mount St. Mary's, Lamar, and Morgan State.

Coach Nichols on Walters: "Trenton is a tough, quick, explosive lead guard who brings winning qualities. He has played a high level of basketball already in his career and has always made an impact. We are excited to add him to the Highlander community and family."
