CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Thanks to his breakout performance on the road this week, Radford men's basketball guard
Kenyon Giles has been named Big South Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
The Silverado High School product immediately introduced himself to the college basketball world, dropping 15 points on 7-for-11 shooting as well as three rebounds, an assist and a steal at Marquette on Monday night.
Giles then came back three days later and balled out again, scoring 20 points while shooting 7-for-15 from the floor and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc at Notre Dame. The Chesapeake, Va. native also added two steals, a block and a rebound in a near upset of the Fighting Irish.
This award marks the first of Giles' career and the first Freshman of the Week honor for Radford since Fa''Mir Ali on Jan. 11, 2021.
