CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Rewarding her strong year on the court and in the classroom, Radford Volleyball's Shelby Hernandez has been named to the Big South All-Academic Team, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
 
Hernandez has earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.12 while majoring in Nutrition and putting in some serious playing time for the Highlanders.
 
The Lochbouie, Colo. native played in all 28 matches this season, leading the Highlanders with 420 digs total and 4.57 digs per set. Hernandez also posted a .960 receive percentage, dished out 60 assists, and landed 25 service aces.
 
She ended the 2022-23 season in style, garnering Big South Libero of the Week honors in the final week of the year for good measure.
 
Hernandez's appearance on the All-Academic team is the first of her career.
