Women’s Tennis Holds On, Beats Longwood 5-2

FARMVILLE, Va. – Radford (9-6, 3-0 BSC) held on to collect their third straight Big South win Tuesday afternoon 4-3 against Longwood.

Radford wasn't unable to collect the doubles point, but Salma Loudili and Malin Falk were up 5-3 and serving match point before going unfinished. From there, the Highlanders needed four singles courts to come out with the win.

Melissa Ifidzhen made sure Radford got off on the right foot in singles play, being the first Highlander off with a 6-3, 6-1 win on court two. Loudili was next, winning 6-1, 7-5 to put Radford up 2-1.

Longwood took court three to tie things back up at two-all, but Emily Brandow was able to battle back for a huge win on court four 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. Ameek Batth would then clinch the match for the Highlanders, winning 7-5, 7-5 on court five. Camryn McClure added on more point for the Highlanders with a 6-1, 6-1 win on court six.

Loudili's singles victory was the sophomore's eighth straight singles victory, moving her spring record to a remarkable 13-3. Brandow also owns 11 singles victories which ranks second for Radford. McClure has battled back in a big way as of late as her win today marked her fourth straight singles win.
