Women’s Tennis Falls at Gardner-Webb

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Radford (9-8, 3-2 BSC) fell to Gardner-Webb 5-2 Tuesday afternoon in a tough Big South match.

In doubles play the Highlanders were able to take one court despite Gardner-Webb securing the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Salma Loudili and Malin Falk were the winning pair, taking court one 6-2.

In singles play Radford took two courts thanks to Falk and Emily Brandow. Falk was the first victorious Highlander of the afternoon, taking court three in comeback fashion winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Brandow used a super tiebreaker third set to take court four for Radford, winning 6-4, 5-7, 1-0(7). Gardner-Webb was able to take four singles courts, though, to seal up the match and win 5-2.

The Highlanders return home this Saturday looking to get back in the win column against UNC Asheville at a 11 a.m.
