Highlanders Fall in Close Match at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Radford (6-5) came up just short in a 4-3 match at Wofford Sunday afternoon just missing a couple tiebreakers they needed to go their way.

The doubles point was tightly contested between the Highlanders and Terriers. Wofford took court two, but Melissa Ifidzhen and Priscilla Stojanovska won 6-4 on court three. It came down to a tiebreaker on the top flight and Salma Loudili and Malin Falk came up just short 6(6)-7.

In singles play Falk rebounded strong and was quick in dispatching her opponent on court three 6-4, 6-2. Wofford was able to take courts two and five to take a 3-1 lead making it so the Highlanders needed all three remaining courts to win.

Emily Brandow picked up a huge comeback victory on court four in the comeback attempt winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. Wofford took court six to clinch, however, before Loudili also made a huge comeback on court one 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. Radford came up just short and a tiebreaker in the doubles point away in a 4-3 final.
