RECIFE, Brazil – Radford men's basketball senior
Shaquan Jules is set to begin play at the 2022 FIBA Americup for the U.S. Virgin Islands National Team this weekend.
The 6'7", 235-lb forward will help the team navigate a challenging slate of games to be played in Brazil, including opponents such as Argentina, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.
Coming into the tournament at number 57 in the FIBA World Rankings, the U.S. Virgin Islands' roster also features Trivante Bloodman (Mississippi State), Jahsean Corbett (Chicago State), Amir Nesbitt (Hampton) and Earl Baker (Slippery Rock) amongst others.
Jules got his first taste of game action with the national team back in June for a series of friendlies. At the collegiate level, he averaged 5.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while shooting 61.9% from the field across 29 appearances last season. He also represented the Highlanders on the Big South Conference All-Academic Team.
