SPARTANBURG, S.C.– The Radford men's and women's cross country teams concluded their regular season on Saturday morning, competing in the Upstate Invitational. Both teams found themselves finishing in the top-10. The women's team placed third, while the men's team came in seventh.
Assistant Coach,
Benji Pinckney, has a positive outlook after today's meet, stating, "I think today showed we are right where we needed to be and in two weeks' time we're going to be very dangerous in the conference."
MEN'S RESULTS
Out of 272 runners,
Joshua Daggett finished in 14
th place running at 24:50.8.
Luke Richards came in 30
th place with a time of 25:21.7. Both men charted in the All-Time 8k record book.
Also making the top-50 are
Sam Sikora (25:26.0) and
Maxton Sowers (25:29.3).
WOMEN'S RESULTS
Chloe Wellings made the top-10, coming in 10
th place, at 17:34.5 out of 211 runners.
MegAnne Gilmore was not too far behind in 15
th place (17:47.6).
Sophie Magson finished in 19
th with a run time of 17:50.0.
Abby Seigel ended at 18:37.4, putting her in the top-50 (48
th place).
UP NEXT
Radford looks forward to hosting the 2023 Big South Cross Country Championships. This takes place on Sunday, October 29 at Green Hill Park in Salem, Va. The men will take off at 10:30 a.m., followed by the women at 11:30 a.m. Awards will occur at 12:30 p.m.
