Highlanders Steady Through 36 Holes At Charlotte Invitational

CONCORD, N.C. – Playing against some of the best mid-major programs in the region, the Radford women's golf team stands in 6^th place after two rounds of the Charlotte Invitational.

The Highlanders battled their way through a new course, shooting 308 in the first round and 309 in the second round. Now through 36 holes, they're just one stroke off from the top five on the team leaderboard.

Macy Johnson had the best day out of several good days for the team, tying for 15^th at 8-over par. She sunk four birdies, recording all of them on back nine holes – 13, 15, 16 and 17.

Tallying a pair of birdies herself was Caroline Gilreath, who was consistent throughout her two rounds with scores of 77 in both. Playing for the first time as a member of the starting lineup, the Roanoke native is tied for 20^th.

Grace Addison and Shea Smith, who moved into the individual spot on the lineup card, both tied for 22^nd on Monday. Smith jumped 15 spots up the individual standings thanks to a 75 in the second round.

Hannah Lindemann was the final scorer for the Highlanders, shooting a strong 76 in the first round before taking a step back a bit with an 82 in the second round. Her day was highlighted by a trio of birdies.

Reigning Big South Freshman of the Week, Mckenzie Weddle, closed things out with a pair of 80's on the scoreboard. She goes into the final round tied for 38^th.
