Moore and Slivka Join Radford Volleyball Family

RADFORD, Va. – A pair of impact transfers – Julia Slivka from Rider and Sierra Moore from Florida International – will join the Radford volleyball program for the upcoming 2023 season, Head Coach Sherisa Livingston announced Wednesday morning.

Hailing from Adamstown, Md., Slivka adds her name to a long list of talented Highlanders at the setter position. Following a freshman season that featured minimal playing time, Slivka really bloomed as a sophomore at Rider.

Seeing playing time in 99 sets across 29 matches during the 2022 season, she posted 529 assists, 197 digs, 20 aces and 16 kills. Her 32 assists against Saint Peter's and 13 digs versus Iona were both season highs. Slivka's accomplishments continued off the court as well, earning a spot on the Rider University Dean's List and being named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.

Prior to her collegiate career, Slivka was a First Team All-County and First Team All-Conference player for all four years at Tuscarora High School.

A 6-foot outside hitter from Plymouth, Minn., Moore joins the Highlanders after playing her debut season at FIU. She played in 22 sets across nine matches, totaling 22 kills and 20 digs with a season-high nine kills against Oklahoma.

The rising sophomore was a member of the Florida International University Dean's List in 2022 and, before that, earned Dean's List and All-Academic honors at Wayzata High School. She starred for the Trojans, capping her high school career with an All-State award while serving as team captain.
