Women’s Tennis Concludes Season with Senior Day Against Appalachian State

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's tennis program season came to an end Sunday afternoon in a 5-0 defeat against Appalachian State. Before the game, the Highlanders honored four-year senior Camryn McClure for her dedication and hard work with the team.

After Appalachian State took the doubles point, Radford saw competitive action from Emily Brandow and Lexi Smolder who finished their seasons strong. Despite going unfinished, the two were both attempting comebacks in their second set. Smolder led 4-2 in her second set while Brandow trailed just 4-3.

The Highlanders overall finished the season on a high note with close matches against Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb including a dominant sweep over Bluefield State. The freshman Smolder finished the season with back-to-back singles wins and led the team with five overall victories.

Julia Abrams and Emily Brandow showed a lot of promise in their junior seasons picking up four doubles wins on court one while Smolder and McClure led the team with six doubles wins.
