Close Singles Battles Highlight Loss at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Radford men's tennis program fell to a tough Clemson squad 7-0 Friday afternoon despite a pair of singles matches that went into three sets.
Tom Saporta continues his strong start to the season as he came up just short in a tiebreaker on court two singles. Saporta took the first set 6-4 before falling in set two 1-6. The third set was a back-and-forth affair, with Clemson taking the late 7-5 edge.
Charles Courteau also returned to action and came up just short in three sets on court five. Courteau dropped his first 4-6 but rebounded in a big way to wind the second set 6-4. In a shortened tiebreaker due to the already decided match, Courteau battled but fell 10-7.
Radford's next match will be on the home courts for the first time this season as the squad gets ready to host UNC Greensboro on Wednesday, February 21st.
