RADFORD, Va. – Radford's penultimate home game will be played on Saturday as in-state rival, Longwood, makes its way to the New River Valley.

SERIES HISTORY
In a series between the last remaining Big South schools in Virginia, Radford owns a 29-10 record all-time against Longwood. The very first meeting between the two programs came on Jan. 25, 1977, starting a strong run of wins for the Highlanders that has since given way to momentum for the Lancers.
 
Radford has dominated when facing the Lancers inside the Dedmon Center, going 17-2 with the pair of losses coming during the 2015-16 and 2020-21 seasons.
 
The Highlanders handed Longwood its first-ever loss inside the brand new Joan Perry Brock Center earlier this season, earning a 69-58 victory on national television thanks to the ESPNU Wildcard. DaQuan Smith and Kenyon Giles went off for a combined 41 points, while Walyn Napper's 20 points led the Lancers.
 
SCOUTING THE LANCERS
Picked to finish 5th in the 2023-24 Big South Preseason Poll, the Lancers got off to an immaculate 13-4 start before a loss to Radford on Jan. 11 began a snowball of defeats in conference play. The pendulum has swung back in Longwood's favor however, with the team racking up three consecutive wins heading into Saturday's contest.
 
Lead guard Walyn Napper is leading the way with 14.3 points and 4.3 assists per game, while Michael Christmas and Jonathan Massie are putting up 11.8 points per game each.
 
As a team, the Lancers rank 5th in the nation with a +9.8 rebounding margin and 20th in the country with a 23.9 free throw attempts per game.
