Offense Blanked in Weekend Finale at Charleston Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Radford softball program came up short in their weekend finale against Charleston Southern Sunday afternoon as the offense was held scoreless in a 5-0 final.
Chloe Greene was back in the circle to start the game for the Highlanders and picked up right from where she left off in her appearance yesterday. The Buccaneers went in order in the first inning and after a pair of two-out hits in the second, Greene induced a fly out to escape the jam.
Greene would retire the Buccaneers in order again in the third as the offense tried to find its stride. In the fourth, Charleston Southern got its first run off a solo homer to open the inning but Greene kept it at that making it a 1-0 game through four innings.
In the fifth, the Buccaneers struck for four runs to grow their lead to five, which is where it would eventually stay for the 5-0 final. Morgan Cooper came in relief of Greene and allowed just one walk over two innings of work.
UP NEXT
The Highlanders will be back in action for another bout of conference play when they visit in-state rival Longwood Saturday, April 20th.
