CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Wednesday afternoon that Julia Abrams has been named the Player of the Week after helping lead Radford to a tight conference victory.
Abrams helped guide the Highlanders to a conference opener victory over Longwood and was perfect in singles and doubles action against North Carolina Central. The senior was the clinching court on flight two in the thrilling 4-3 victory over Longwood. Against the Eagles, she stayed hot with a doubles win on court one and a straight sets win on court two singles.
The weekly honor is the fourth of Abrams' career and second this season as she becomes the first Highlander to ever win the award four times in their career.
Abrams and the Highlanders return to action on Saturday, March 29th, hitting the road for another round of Big South action at UNC Asheville.
