Women’s Tennis Cruises Past Southern Virginia

BOX SCORE RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's tennis program defended the home courts to the tune of a 6-1 victory over Southern Virginia Wednesday afternoon.

Radford would earn the doubles point for the early lead behind two dominant matches on courts one and two. Julia Abrams and Lexi Smolder won decisively 6-0 on court one while Natalia Reimer and Rachel Ekanem earned the 6-2 decision on court two.

Smolder would continue to work with ease on court two singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Rachel Ekanem also worked quickly on court five winning 6-0, 6-2 to put Radford ahead 3-1. Reimer clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win on court four.

Adding to the Highlanders wins, Murphy earned a dominant win on court three 6-0, 6-0. Abrams also held on with the top court win 6-3, 5-7, 1-0(6).
