A LOOK BACK
Radford and Longwood renew their in-state Big South rivalry Saturday afternoon marking the 43rd meeting in series history. Radford owns a decisive lead in the series history 31-11 and has won three of the last four meetings. Since Longwood joined the Big South in 2012, Radford also holds a 19-7 advantage in the series. The Highlanders will look to avenge last season's loss in the Dedmon Center after defeating Longwood in the return trip to Farmville to split the season series in 2024-25.

RIGSBY JR.'S BIG BENCH MINUTES
Brennan Rigsby Jr. provided some big minutes for Radford early against Gardner-Webb to weather an early shooting drought. Scoring a season-high 11 points, all in the first half, Rigsby Jr. reignited Radford's offense from trailing by as much as 20-8 to a huge 45-31 lead at halftime. That run proved pivotal, as the Runnin' Bulldogs stormed back with their own comeback attempt in the second half that Radford was able to stave off in the 89-80 final.

BATTLE OF FIRST YEAR HEAD COACHES
Radford and Longwood are both guided by first-year head coaches in Zach Chu and Ronnie Thomas who come into this weekend's Big South action with near identical records. Both coaches have wasted no time in their debut seasons racking up victories, guiding their teams to 10-9 overall records. Radford has posted a 3-1 record so far in Big South play, though, compared to Longwood's 2-2 record. In the most recent NCAA NET rankings, both teams checked in with similar spots with Radford 263rd and Longwood 282nd.

SCOUTING THE LANCERS
The Lancers were idle earlier this week but have posted a 2-2 record through their first four conference games with wins over Winthrop and Presbyterian and losses to High Point and UNC Asheville. Overall, on the season, the Lancers boast a balanced attack with seven players averaging over seven points per game led by Jacoi Hutchinson's 12.1 ppg. The Lancers work into the paint often and are one of the more efficient shooting teams in the conference with a 46.2% shooting this season compared to just a 29.6% clip from beyond the arc.
