Cooper Debuts Season with Big South Pitcher of the Week Nod

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Tuesday morning that Morgan Cooper has been named Pitcher of the Week after her incredible start to the 2026 season this past weekend.

Cooper was nearly flawless on the weekend allowing no earned runs in her first action of the 2026 season. In Radford's season opener, Cooper went the distance tossing seven innings with one unearned run of work including five strikeouts for the decisive win. In the weekend finale, Cooper held a strong Troy offense that entered the game averaging nine runs per game to zero runs over four innings of work.

The weekly award is the fourth in Cooper's career after earning two weekly awards last season and one in her debut season. It's also back-to-back seasons where Cooper debuted her season as the conference's Pitcher of the Week, earning the nod in week one of 2025.

The Highlanders are currently preparing for a midweek bout against ACC foe North Carolina. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C. with the action being streamed on ACC Network Extra.
