RADFORD, Va. – After a strong third place finish as a team at the Big South Indoor Championships this past weekend, the Radford women's track & field team was rated 22nd out of 43 teams in the Southeast Region Rating Index.
Â
Several key performances from select athletes helped Radford finish above several key programs in Virginia such as George Mason (23rd), James Madison (25th), Richmond (28th), Norfolk State (31st), and VCU (33rd). Jeylah Hamrick's mark of 52.92 to repeat as Big South champion in the 400 meters was the fastest time among Virginia programs, seventh-fastest in the region, and 53rd nationally.
Â
Another key performance from the past weekend to help with the rating include the 4x400 relay team's time of 3:40.01 to take second in the Big South. The group of Mattie Flores, Raichelle Cornelius, Jordan Jackson, and Hamrick ran the ninth fastest time in the region and second fastest by a Virginia program.
