
Highlanders Rank Second in Big South Percentage Rankings as 216 Scholar-Athletes Earn Presidential Honor Roll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Wednesday afternoon that 216 scholar-athletes were named to the Presidential Honor Roll list, accounting for 85.04 percent of all scholar-athletes at Radford which ranked second best in the conference.
Of Radford's 254 total scholar-athletes, 216 achieved at least a 3.0 or better GPA during the last academic year. Included in those 216 award winners, there were 26 that earned the Commissioner's Award for a perfect 4.0 GPA. 66 Highlanders earned the gold award (3.75-3.99), 53 earned the silver award (3.50-3.74) and 71 earned the bronze award (3.00-3.49). Amongst Big South members, Radford ranked second just behind Longwood and ahead of third-place High Point.
To be named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better for the recently-completed academic year. This past season, 2,320 out of 2,994 eligible student-athletes achieved the benchmark in the Big South. The conference set a new all-time record for Commissioner's Award recipients with 703.
