Radford Athletics Partners With Kindred Spirit Brewing on Craft Beer
7/29/2026 3:00:00 PM | Radford Athletics
RADFORD, Va. – Radford University Athletics and Radford alumni-owned Kindred Spirit Brewing have partnered to license an official craft beer befitting of Radford University and the New River Valley called "Exit 109."
Â
"We are thrilled about our exciting new partnership with Kindred Spirit Brewing," said Cory Durand, Deputy Athletics Director. "The partnership offers Highlander fans a new way to celebrate and support Radford Athletics, and we're confident they'll enjoy elevating their gameday experience with a beer created specifically for our passionate fan base."
Â
At 5.5% alcohol by volume, Exit 109 is a classic low carb American light lager which is super crisp and refreshing.
Â
"As a 1992 Radford graduate and former Highlander lacrosse player, this partnership is incredibly personal to me," said Joe Trottier, co-owner of Kindred Spirit Brewing. "I never imagined that years after driving through Exit 109 as a student-athlete, I'd return as a co-owner of Kindred Spirit Brewing to help create a beer that celebrates the university and the community that shaped so much of my life. As we celebrate Kindred Spirit's 10th anniversary, I can't think of a better way to mark the occasion than by honoring a place that has meant so much to generations of Radford alumni. Exit 109 isn't just a highway exit – it's the beginning of lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and for many of us, the start of our journey."
Â
The Radford community is invited to raise a pint to Radford at one of two planned launch events coming up in August. Wear your Radford spirit gear and show your Highlander Pride. Both events are family friendly!
