Radford University Athletics

Cory Durand is in his 11th year with Radford Athletics and second as Deputy Athletics Director after spending the previous four years as the Associate Athletics Director for External Operations. In this enhanced role, he will assume a leadership position in the daily operations of the department, in the formulation and execution of strategic initiatives and in the collaborative efforts of the senior leadership team to achieve championship caliber results.
 
Additionally, Durand oversees the department’s brand/marketing strategies, communications, ticket sales and operations, social media, digital media, broadcast operations, spirit groups and community relations. He also provides sport oversight for the men’s and women’s tennis, baseball, and women's soccer programs.
 
Durand serves as the departments liaison for Radford Sports Properties (a property of Learfield IMG College), and handles relationships with BSN Sports/Nike, CLC Learfield IMG College, ESPN+, and SIDEARM Sports.
 
Durand is an active member with NACMA (National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators) and ICLA (International Collegiate Licensing Association) and serves as the Big South Conference representative for each organization.
 
In 2014, Durand was recognized in Sports Launch Magazine as one of the top 30-under-30 athletic administrators in the country.
 
Before coming to Radford, Durand worked in similar roles at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and at his alma mater, Ohio University.
 
Durand graduated from Ohio University in 2009. He and his wife, Katie, reside in Christiansburg with their children, Patrick and Violet.
