Biography

2014
Played in 49 contest with 40 starts, the regular starter in leftfield since league play started on March 21 at Campbell... Hit first four collegiate home runs with the first (3-run) coming in game one against Liberty (4/8) in which she also knocked in a career-best three runs... Scored a career-high two runs and also added a long ball and two RBI in game two against the Lady Flames... Also homered against Coastal Carolina and Virginia Tech... Tripled and recorded first multiple-hit (2-4) contest at Marshall (4/2)... 4-for-4 in stolen bases.

2013
Appeared in 29 contests, making one start... Tallied eight runs... Registered first collegiate hit at then-No.23 North Carolina and also singled and scored against St. John's (Miken Invitational)... Made first collegiate start against Binghamton.

2012
Did not see action due to injury.

PREP / CLUB
Selected to all-state, all-conference and all-tournament teams every year since joining Brunswick's squad in eighth grade... Batted. .487 with 44 runs and a .529 on base percentage helping the Vikings to a 19-4 record in 2011... Member of the Richmond Diamonds U18 club team... Also lettered in basketball, volleyball and cross country.

Full name is Mackenzie Jean Blackwell... Majoring in exercise, sport and health education (exercise and sport science) with a minor in entrepreneurship... Mackenzie is the oldest of Kevin and Terry Blackwell's three daughters...  Brunswick Academy Honor Graduate, National Honor Society member and a 2010 All-Academic selection for cross country.
