Started 54 of 55 games at first base... Second on team with 27 RBIs and third in total bases, collecting five home runs, eight doubles and two triples... Tied for third on team with nine multi-hit and six multiple-RBI games... Had six multi-hit outings over 15 games from Mar. 10-Apr. 2... Named to Big South All-Academic Team for second straight year.

2016
Named to Big South All-Tournament Team after hitting .389 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in five games... Had game-winning RBI single in 4-3 walk-off win over Winthrop on May 12... Hit first career grand slam and tied program record with six RBIs in 8-4 victory over Campbell on May 13 to force second semifinal game... Played in all but one game with 58 starts... Posted career highs in average, hits, RBI, runs, doubles and home runs... Tied for third in Big South with 13 doubles and was third on team with seven homers and 32 RBIs.... Hit five homers over final 14 games, including game-deciding three-run shot vs. Liberty on April 27... Totaled 11 multiple-hit games and nine multi-RBI outings... Earned Big South All-Academic Team honors and Big South Presidential Honor Roll member.

2015
Started all 49 games, making 35 appearances at first base, two at third base, 10 in the outfield and four at designated player...batted .212 over the season with four doubles, a triple and two home runs...scored 13 runs while batting in 15...one of five Highlanders to have a double, triple and home run during the year...had five multi-hit outings...home runs came against Tennessee Tech (March 8) and at ETSU (April 1)...career-best three hits and two runs came against George Mason (Feb. 14).

2014
Saw action in 49 games with 40 starts... Made starts at first, in the outfield and was the regular designated player the last 25 games of the season... Notched a team-best two triples, to go along with three doubles and three home runs... Hit first collegiate long ball (2-run) versus Towson (3/9) and also homered against Presbyterian (4/5) and Coastal Carolina (4/22)... Her first collegiate hit came against Austin Peay (2/21)... Notched first extra base hit (triple) and RBI (game-winning) versus Middle Tennessee (2/21)... Four multiple-hit contests, three coming in a four-game stretch against PC and Liberty in which she went 7-for-11 with a HR, 6 RBI and 4 runs... Game winning 2-run double agianst Alabama A&M (3/15).

PREP/CLUB
A first-team all-state selection after batting . 368 with 10 doubles, 20 RBI and 19 runs for her senior campaign... All-Duneland Athletics Conference selection... Participated in the 2013 ICGSA North South All-Star game... Helped Lake Central to three district and two regional championships as well as two third-place finishes in the state… Named to The Times All-Area Honorable Mention team as a junior... 2012 Indiana Farm Bureau Peak Performer (twice)... 2011 Post Tribune All-Area and All-Duneland Athletic Conference selection… High Honor Roll every semester... Played for the Beverly Bandits Gold travel team and joins former teammates Becky Mantel and Casey Burns.

Kayla Marie Bishton is the daughter of Paula and Ed Bishton... Has a twin brother Eric... Communication sciences and disorders major (speech pathology).
