Biography

CAREER: Left Radford ranked in the top 10 in seven career categories… Three-time all-conference selection, first team in 2008 and 2010… 2010 Second Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region… 2008 Big South and VaSID State Freshman of the Year… First player in program history to record a pair of two-home run games in a season (2009)… Two seventh-inning highlight-reel catches (first robbed home run) that resulted in all three outs in 2010 Big South Championship Game win over Winthrop... In 2009, knocked in Radford’s first ever NCAA Regional run with a fourth inning sac fly against eventual national semifinalist Georgia.

2011 HIGHLIGHTS:
Tied school record with four runs scored vs. Longwood (4/6)… Three three-hit contests, including 3-for-4 with double, home run and three RBI in Big South Tournament against Charleston Southern.

2010 HIGHLIGHTS:
First Team All-Conference and State… Second Team All-Region… Made a pair of defensive gems that resulted in all three seventh-inning outs of Big South championship game… Robbed a leadoff home run and then snagged a sinking line drive and doubled off the runner at second for the final out… Started all 50 games played in… Led team in doubles, second in stolen bases and third in batting average … Tied for league lead and 32nd in the nation in doubles… Ranked in top 10 in batting average (7th) and stolen bases (t-5th)… Season and career-high 13-game (.429) hitting streak (March 18-April 2), tied for second best on the team this year... Second on squad with five three-hit contests and 13 two-out RBI... Career highs in hits, doubles and RBI… Just one of two outfielders in Big South with 50-plus chances that recorded a perfect fielding percentage.

2009 HIGHLIGHTS:
Second Team All-Conference... First Radford player to record a pair of multi-home run games in the same season (St. John’s and Liberty)... Both performances tied a school record held by several players... Knocked in Radford’s first ever NCAA Regional run in the fourth inning against eventual national semifinalist Georgia… Homered in comeback regional victory against Campbell… Third on team and tied for fourth in the Big South with nine long balls… VaSID All-State Second Team selection… 12 multi-hit games with three, three-hit contests... Big South Player of the Week (4/27) after batting .563 (9-16) with two HR and eight RBI, recording three multi-hit and multi RBI contests… Three-hit games came against Liberty, Winthrop and Charleston Southern... Career-high three RBI at Longwood and Charleston Southern.

2008 HIGHLIGHTS:
Big South Freshman of the Year… First-team all-conference utility player… Named state’s freshman of the year as selected by VaSID… 10 home runs and .675 slugging percentage were third highest in school history and second best by a Radford freshman… Batting average (.366) was the sixth highest in school history… Second in conference in home runs and slugging percentage and third in batting average… Second on team in round-trippers, batting and slugging… In final 31 games, batted .487 (38-78) with five doubles, nine home runs, 18 RBI and 23 runs while slugging .923 and recording a .494 on base percentage... Tied for a team-best four three-hit games… Two-time conference player of the week ... Recorded a hit in 9-of-12 conference games, batting .517 (15-29) and slugging .966… Ended season on nine-game hitting streak (tying team-high), batting .556 (15-27) with nine runs.

PREP:
Second-team All-American selection as a sophomore and junior ... Three-time all-conference and all-area honoree... Also lettered in volleyball and basketball... Member of the Beverly Bandits U-18 Gold team.

PERSONAL/ACADEMICS:
Shannon Rose Keefe was born on Feb. 10, 1989 in Woodridge, Ill.... Physical therapy major… Is the middle of Cindy and the late James Keefe’s three daughters... Older sister Jessica recently completed her collegiate softball career at the University of Tampa (2006-09).
