2022-23 AS A FRESHMAN
Made an instant impact during his rookie campaign... He competed in four races and posted Radford's best finish in his collegiate debut at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational... Led the Highlanders in half of the races he competed in as he was also the top scorer at the Live in Lou Classic... Finished 24th at the Big South Championships.

PREP
Attended Borden Grammar School in Sittingbourne, England. Under the guidance of head coach Steve Fury, a former All-American at Oklahoma State, Gear was a very successful runner. He posted a career-best 1,500-meter time of 3:58.34 and finished second at the Kent County Championships for back-to-back seasons. He also scored for the Kent cross country team at the 2022 United Kingdom Cross Country Championships.

During his time in high school, Gear was also a member of the swim team and was tabbed as a county level swimmer.

Son of Karen and Alan Gear…has three younger brothers, Hayden, Louie and Noah.
