Abby Federici

Abby Federici joined the Radford University Sports Medicine staff in July of 2021. She serves as the primary athletic trainer for the men’s basketball team. Alongside her sport assignment duties, she acts as the sports medicine supervisor for the women’s lacrosse and volleyball teams as well as the sports medicine department’s Concussion Care Coordinator.

Prior to being promoted to her full-time position in July of 2022, she served as a certified intern athletic trainer working primarily with the volleyball team while assisting with the men’s tennis, women’s tennis, and women’s soccer teams. During her summer hiatus away from Radford University, she worked as one of two staff athletic trainers at Berkshire Soccer Academy in East Otis, Massachusetts.

Before arriving at Radford, Federici provided athletic training coverage for summer camps at her alma mater, Ashland University. While there, she assisted in managing camps for the basketball, football, soccer, and wrestling programs.

Federici was also a three-year Division II student-athlete at Ashland University in the sport of lacrosse.

The Findlay, Ohio native graduated from Ashland in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. While working as a student at Ashland, she handled responsibilities for all 23 NCAA Division II athletic teams and area high schools. She received her Master of Science degree in Health Sciences from Radford University Carilion in August 2025
