Big South First Team member…Big South All-Tournament Team…VaSID First Team honoree…Led team with 363 kills, ranking third in the Big South…Set a new single-season record with a .397 hitting percentage…Put together 23 double-figure kill matches…Finished with a career-high 25 kills on two separate occasions…Hit over .400 in 13 matches…Led team in solo blocks (12), assisted blocks (63) and total blocks (75)...Etched name into RU career record book in several categories: 721 kills (seventh), 2.51 kills per set (eighth), .334 attacking percentage (third), 173 assisted blocks (seventh), 194 total blocks (sixth) and 819.5 points (seventh).
2014 HIGHLIGHTS
Dominant force on the right side for the Highlanders... Hit .308 in her 32 matches, which ranked in the top-10 of the Big South... Her 231 kills ranked fourth on the team... Reached double-figure kills 11 times, including a career-high 16 kills against Gardner-Webb... Tallied 52 blocks, which ranked fourth on the team.
2013 HIGHLIGHTS
Excelled at the net, recording 69 blocks, which were third on the team... Played in 79 sets and started 20 matches... Lifted RU to a 3-1 win over Kennesaw State behind her season-high 11 kills... Career-high seven blocks came in five-set win over Campbell.
HIGH SCHOOL / CLUB
After finishing her career as the all-time block assists leader at Lamar High School, Short went on to play for the University of New Mexico Lobos... Three-time, first-team all-district honoree and was named District 4-5A Blocker of the Year her senior season... Selected to the 2011 Fort Worth Star Telegram Super Team, and was a TGCA Alternate East / West All Star in 2011... Played on Ping Cao's TAV 17 VBRags club team that claimed the 17-Open National Championship in 2010.
