Women's Tennis Defeats Washington & Lee, 6-3

LEXINGTON, Va. – Singles victories at positions one through four and a pair of doubles points helped Radford defeat the 2008 NCAA Division III national runners-up, 6-3, in women's tennis action Friday afternoon at the Duchossis Tennis Center.
The Highlanders improve to 3-2 on the season, while Washington & Lee falls to 0-1.
Mia Drobnjak (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska gimnazija) and Ally Spector (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) captured the second doubles' point for the Highlanders with a win over Lauren Lukas and Ellen Yeatman at No. 3 doubles.
With a pair of doubles points in hand, Radford sealed the victory with three straight singles wins. Ivana Tomaic (Zagreb, Croatia/Third Gymnasium), Drobnjak and Petra Dajevic (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska gimnazija) each won in straight sets with Dajevic capturing the winning point with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Katie Tabb at No. 1 singles.
The Highlanders return to action tomorrow morning when they travel to Fredericksburg, Va., to face Mary Washington at 10:00 a.m.
