Women's Tennis Tops Mary Washington, 6-3

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. –Strong singles play at the top once again helped Radford defeat Mary Washington, 6-3, in women's tennis action Saturday morning at the UMW Tennis Center.
Back-to-back wins improves the Highlanders record to 4-2, while Mary Washington falls to 0-1.
A pattern seems to be developing for the Radford women's tennis team, where wins at the top turn into team victories.
True to form, the Highlanders captured the top three singles spots with Petra Dajevic (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska gimnazija) Mia Drobnjak (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska gimnazija) and Ivana Tomaic (Zagreb, Croatia/Third Gymnasium) each winning in straight sets.
At No. 1 doubles, Dajevic and Tomaic teamed up to win their match against Courtney Goimarac and Katie Schafer, 8-5 while the duo of Ally Spector (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) and Drobnjak also won their doubles match, 9-7, versus Stacy Rickard and Michelle Meadows.
The Highlanders will be back in action against Winthrop on Saturday, Feb. 21 for their Big South opener.
