Jennie Finch Softball Camp Comes to Radford University This Weekend

400 campers, from approximately 15 states, will be descending onto the RU Softball Field on Saturday and Sunday

RADFORD, Va. – World-renowned softball player Jennie Finch is coming to Radford University and the New River Valley this weekend to host the Jennie Finch Softball Camp Sept. 12 and 13.

400 campers, from approximately 15 states, along with their families and coaches will be descending onto the RU Softball Field on Saturday (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and Sunday (9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.) for two days of personal instruction covering all aspect of softball.

Finch will be joined by current and former National Team and professional teammates; Laura Berg, Andrea Duran, Toni Mascarenas and MacKenzie Vandergeest, along with Finch's father Doug Finch and Valdosta State head coach and Chicago Bandit assistant coach Thomas Macera

“We are very excited and pleased that Jennie has chosen the New River Valley to hold one of her camps,” commented Radford head coach Mickey Dean.

The camp is preceded by a Champions Dinner and silent auction on Friday, Sept. 11 from 6-10 p.m. at the Shelor Event Center in Christiansburg.

“Jennie is presented with several opportunities to host camps, for her to choose the New River Valley is great for our community softball players to work with some of the best instruction in the world,” said Dean. “This should be a great event with the camp, banquet, and silent auction.”

After the dinner and auction, which will feature Finch and her teammates, join the gold medalist and her Olympic and professional peers for two full days of personal instruction covering all aspects of softball.
