Jade Okamoto fired a career-low 73 as Radford sits tied for fourth, just nine strokes out of second place following 36 holes of the 2010 Big South Women's Golf Championships Tuesday.
The 54-hole/9-team event is being played on the Par 72, 5,956-yard The Patriot Club at Grand Harbor layout.
Okamoto bettered her previous personal best by two strokes and will enter the final day tied for ninth at seven-over 151 (78-73).
As a team, the Highlanders carded a 309 and are tied with Bucknell at 613. Radford and the Bison will enter the final round five behind Winthrop (313-295 = 608) and just nine back of top-seeded Coastal Carolina (303-301 = 604).
Charleston Southern stretched its team lead to 14 strokes, while Minjoo Lee (70-74 = 144) of Bucknell holds a one-stroke advantage on the individual leaderboard over Olivia Higgins (CSU), Aruka Felgueroso (Coastal Carolina) and Kayla Cline (Winthrop).
After opening with a 90, Radford's
Maggie Watts bounced back with a four-over 76 today, while
Hannah Coles shot 79 and is tied for 13th with
Megan Leineweber (72-82).
For the second straight day,
Amy McCollum bettered her season stroke average as the sophomore shot 81 and is currently tied 28th.
The second round will begin tomorrow morning. The host Highlanders will be playing in threesomes with Bucknell and Gardner-Webb beginning at 8 a.m. off the first tee.
