Tufts Recorded Her First Collegiate Hat Trick at Saint Francis (Pa.)

RADFORD, Va. – On the heels of her first collegiate hat trick, Radford's Kay Tufts was tabbed NorPac East Offensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday by the league office.

Tufts provided all the scoring for the Highlanders (5-1) in a 3-2 overtime victory at Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday. Each of the senior forward's first two goals tied the match, the second one coming with just four minutes left in regulation after the Red Flash reestablished the lead two minutes earlier.

She tallied the game-winner midway through the first overtime to send Radford away victorious. It was the first hat trick since Stephanie McLamb (2005-08) registered one at North Carolina on Sept. 21, 2008.

Radford stays on the road next weekend traveling to Louisville, Ky. for a pair of contests against Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 19 versus host and 11th- ranked Cardinals. Both games begin at 2 p.m.
