
VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO CHARLESTON SOUTHERN IN BIG SOUTH OPENER

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Radford volleyball team fell to Charleston Southern, 3-0 (16-25, 18-25, 21-25), in its Big South opener Friday night in the CSU Fieldhouse.
The loss drops the Highlanders to 6-9, 0-1, while the Buccaneers improve 6-9, 1-1.
Amanda Hill led all players with 20 kills and picked up 12 digs for Charleston Southern.
Despite the loss, sophomore Desiree Aramburu paced Radford with her fourth double-double of the season contributing 27 assists and 16 digs.
Freshman Emily Carlin also turned in a solid effort for the Highlanders with eight kills and 10 digs.
As a team, Charleston Southern recorded 46 kills (.266), 67 digs and nine total blocks while holding Radford to just 37 kills (.086), 61 digs and one total block.
The Highlanders will conclude their league-opening road trip with a 2 p.m. contest at Winthrop Saturday.
