FIELD HOCKEY EDGED IN FINAL SECONDS AT NORPAC TOURNAMENT

FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood's Jen Burris scored with 30 seconds left as Longwood defeated Radford, 2-1, in a consolation contest at the NorPac Field Hockey Championships on Friday evening from the Athletics Complex.
Freshman Stacey Mackintosh scored her ninth goal of the season for the Highlanders, the most for a Radford freshman since Kirsten Braun in 1991.
Stacey de Grandhomme gave the Lancers a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute as she scored on a counterattack following a Radford corner.
Mackintosh evened it at one-apiece on a corner after fellow classmate Jana Bayer found her during the set piece.
Longwood made on last push and Burris found the back of the cage for the game winner.
