RADFORD, Va. – The Radford track and field programs return home following a successful conference championship weekend to host the Highlander Invitational Apr. 27-28 at Cupp Stadium Track.
Last year at this event, 10 facility records were eclipsed (7 by collegiate attached athletes). Nikki Roseberry, who set a new Cupp Stadium Track high jump record (1.75m) at this meet, will lead the way for Radford in front of the home crowd.
Ronald Bradstock will highlight the returning visitor elites. Bradstock shattered the facility record and also set a new world record for his age group in the men's javelin.
Radford alumni Sean Domer and Brian Richotte will also return and compete in the javelin and hammer throw, respectively - both events in which they hold the school record. Richotte was one of four All-American athletes during his time at Radford.
Returning Defending Champions
Four Radford athletes will look to defend individual event titles set at this meet a year ago.
Brett Olinger, the 2012 Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year, will defend his title in the 400m hurdles and will look to notch his second straight victory in as many meets.
Kaise White, who garnered all-conference honors in the 400m last weekend, will defend his top spot in the same event and will look to surpass his 47.58 PR set last year.
Lakei Crews also won the 100m dash last year with a time of 12.49. All seven times Crews has recorded this year has been faster than the 12.49 in which she won the event last year.
In the women's hammer throw, Aimee Veatch was the top collegian last year and is searching for her 12th career title.
Last Time Out
White, Tehquin Warrick, Vincent Wyatt, Olinger and the men's 4x400m relay team earned all-conference distinction at the Big South Outdoor Championships.
White finished second in the 400m, while Warrick finished just behind White in third. Wyatt finished runner-up in the 110m hurdles, while Olinger took first in the 400m hurdles.
Olinger, Warrick and White were joined by Ronquis Posey to take third in the 4x400m relay.
