
MEN’S TENNIS SET FOR NCAA TOURNAMENT MATCH WITH KENTUCKY

Radford will make its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance Friday afternoon when the Highlanders take on No. 6 Kentucky (26-5) in the opening round of the Lexington Regional at 3 p.m.
The winner of the Highlanders' first-round matchup will advance to the round of 32 (May 12) to face the victor of the dual between second-seeded Indiana and third-seeded Louisville.
Radford enters the NCAA Tournament 20-5 after defeating seventh-seeded Presbyterian, 4-0, in the 2012 Big South Championship on April 21.
HIGHLANDER NOTES
• Won five of the last six Big South Tournament Championships
• Captured six of the last seven Big South Regular Season Titles
• Finished undefeated in Big South play four of the last seven seasons
• Hit the 20-win plateau for the fifth time in school history
• The Highlanders cracked the ITA Top-75 for the fifth consecutive season
• Since 2006, the Highlanders have won 58 of their last 64 against league competition, which includes a 17-3 mark in tournament matches.
• Four of the Highlanders' five losses came against nationally-ranked programs
• In addition to Nicholas Sayer being named Big South Player of the Year, five other Highlanders earned all-conference honors.
• Sayer, who leads the team with a 29-10 record, was selected to participate in the 2012 NCAA Singles Championships later this month.
• Thomas Dehaen and Stijn Meulemans also hit the 20-win plateau for the second straight season.
• As a team, the Highlanders are 105-32 (.766) in singles matches this spring.
