RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's basketball team travels to Buies Creek, N.C. for Monday's Big South opener against Campbell inside Gore Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
MEET THE CAMELS
» Campbell has gotten all three of its wins at home this season. The Camels have beaten Erskine (82-56), Western Carolina (73-60) and UNC Wilmington (67-53).
» Radford and Campbell have one common opponent thus far in Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons topped RU (92-65) and the Camels (73-65).
» In her 33rd season at the helm of her alma mater, Wanda Watkins notched her 500th career victory at home against UNCW on Nov. 16th. She became the 27th active Division I head coach to reach the 500-win milestone. In addition, she is one of only 12 active head coaches across all divisions to complete 32 seasons at the same school.
» Kiera Gaines, who tallied her third straight double-double in Campbell's last game at Mount St. Mary's, leads the Camels with her 17 ppg and 9.2 rpg.
» Roslyn Presley also averages double-figure scoring for Campbell at 12.4 ppg.
» Campbell puts up 70.2 ppg, while allowing 62 ppg.
CAMPBELL SERIES AT A GLANCE
» Radford has a commanding 19-9 edge in the all-time series with the Camels. However, Campbell snapped a five-game winning streak in the series by the Highlanders when it won, 83-77, in overtime last season. The Camels went on to win the second meeting of the season, 66-52, at the Dedmon Center.
» Monday's matchup marks the first time the two sides will clash in their Big South opener since Jan. 13, 1990. RU won that encounter, 74-48.
