BLACKSBURG, Va. – Three Highlanders pocketed wins Saturday for the Radford women's tennis team at the Hokie Fall Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
Natalie Sayer and Taylor Fay moved into the Flight C doubles final after downing Sloan Barton and Mariana Silva of Virginia Tech, 8-4. The RU tandem, which is unbeaten at 4-0 on the season, meets James Madison's Kimmy Herrock and Sarah Khan Sunday at 9 a.m. in the flight final.
For the second straight day, Sayer earned a quality win in Flight A singles. The freshman toppled the Hokies' Kelly Williford (6-1, 6-2) to advance in the bracket. Meanwhile, her doubles partner also racked up a victory. Fay cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Penn State's Lisa Petruzillo in Flight E singles.
In Flight D singles action, Meg Napolitano rebounded from an opening set loss (4-6) to claim the next two frames (6-4, 6-2) against Hayley Wild of Morehead State. The senior collides with Rachel Nelson of JMU in Sunday morning's semifinals.
