RADFORD, Va. – Entering the week in sole possession of second place in the Big South standings, the Radford volleyball team hits the road for a pair of conference clashes this weekend. The Highlanders will be at Campbell (Nov. 7) and High Point (Nov. 8) looking to gain ground on first-place Liberty.

SCOUTING THE FIGHTING CAMELS
Campbell has lost eight of its last 10 matches, running its record to 12-15 overall and 3-7 against conference competition. Alexis Hein, a transfer from Arkansas-Little Rock, puts down 2.31 kills per set to pace the attack.

Setter Summer Schuitema organizes the offense with her 7.42 assists per set. On the defensive side, Mary Crema leads the league in digs per set (5.06), while McKenzie Fell has a team-best 69 blocks on the year.

Radford leads the series with Campbell, 20-3, which includes a 3-1 victory for the Highlanders earlier this season.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
High Point only dropped one set last weekend en route to a pair of wins at home against UNC Asheville and Gardner-Webb. The Panthers improved their record to 10-13 overall and 4-6 in league action.

Kristin Heldt tops High Point's offensive output with 3.35 kills per set, while Chelsea Davis delivers 2.72 kills per set. Junior transfer Gabi Mirand dishes out 10.36 assists per set, while Wavie Chin averages 4.80 digs per set. Camryn Freiberg has a team-best 70 blocks for HPU.

Radford prevailed in five sets over the Panthers on Oct. 10 inside the Dedmon Center. The Highlanders lead the all-time series, 25-14.

The Highlanders (18-7, 8-2 Big South) bettered its home winning streak to 10-straight matches following Friday's 3-0 triumph over Liberty. With the win, RU climbed to within one match of the Lady Flames in the Big South standings. In addition, Radford ended Liberty's 13-match winning streak.

RU continues to be one of the conference's top offensive teams, ranking third in hitting percentage (.211) and ranking fourth in kills per set (12.64). The Highlanders top the league in aces per set, dialing up 1.33 each game.

Rachel Wiechecki paces the offense with her 3.54 kills per set, which rank third in the Big South. Emma Deininger ranks second in hitting accuracy (.315). In addition to her offense, Wiechecki anchors the backline with her 3.82 digs per set.

Radford concludes its regular season against Gardner-Webb (Nov. 14) and UNC Asheville (Nov. 15) next weekend. Senior Day is scheduled for the UNC Asheville match. Jena Braden, Savannah Cantrell, Kristina Cascio, Emma Deininger and Rachel Wiechecki will be honored prior to the 4 p.m. first serve.
