RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's basketball team and UNC Asheville are set to play for the second time this season when the two sides hook up Thursday at 4 p.m. inside Kimmel Arena in Asheville, N.C.
MEET THE BULLDOGS
» UNC Asheville has lost three games in a row, including a 62-55 defeat at Winthrop last Saturday. However, all those losses were on the road. The Bulldogs play at home Thursday for the first time since a Jan. 26 victory vs. Charleston Southern (73-48).
» Paige Love leads UNC Asheville in scoring at 10.3 points per game, and is the only player to average double figures for her squad.
» Shonese Jones and Brittany Gwyn contribute 9.6 and 9.1 points per game, respectively.
» Love is the Bulldogs' top rebounder at 5.7 per game.
» Leah Wormack tops the Big South in free throw shooting at 86.6 percent (58-67). With two players in the top three of the individual standings, UNC Asheville ranks first in free throw shooting (75.4 percent) as a team.
» Fans might see a battle beyond the arc as Radford leads the league in 3-point percentage (34.8), while the Bulldogs hold their opponents to a league-low 27.9 percent shooting from downtown.
UNC ASHEVILLE SERIES AT A GLANCE
» The Bulldogs snapped a four-game losing streak in the all-time series when they defeated Radford, 68-61, earlier this year. Despite the loss, the Highlanders continue to hold a commanding advantage in the series history (45-18).
UP NEXT
» The Highlanders head further south to Rock Hill, S.C. for Saturday's 1 p.m. Big South clash against Winthrop.
