RADFORD, Va. – More than 500 athletes from 17 schools, including Radford, are set to compete at the Akron Invitational, which will be hosted by the Zips' track and field program at Stile Athletics Field House in Akron, Ohio.

The two-day meet begins Friday at 3 p.m. Two running events, the women's distance medley relay and the men's 5,000 meters, highlight the evening portion of the first day. Saturday's competition concludes with the 4x400-meter relays at 6 p.m.

HOKIE INVITATIONAL RECAP
Highlighted by Teresa Williamson's school-record performance in the women's mile, Radford continued to show improvement at the Hokie Invitational contested inside Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va. Williamson broke Kara Price's program record in the mile by reaching the finish line in 4:57.95. Her pace was the third-best in the race and the second-best among Big South competitors this season. The previous mile record (5:01.48) was set by Price at the 2001 Big South indoor championships.

Vincent Wyatt continued to shine as he collected his third victory in as many starts. His 7.84 he ran at the meet was the fifth-fastest effort in program history. Tyler Lamott (seventh / weight throw), Madeline Thomas (seventh / 5,000-meter run), Steven Graham (ninth / 400-meter dash) and Eric Graves (sixth / 600-meter dash) also posted top-10 showings.

Vincent Wyatt continues to hold the top time for the 60-meter hurdles among Big South student-athletes. His 7.78 performance at the Virginia Tech Invitational is the second-fastest time in program history.
