RADFORD ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH NIKE/BSN Sports, Inc.



RADFORD, Va. – The Radford University department of athletics announced Wednesday it has reached a five-year exclusive apparel and sponsorship agreement with NIKE/BSN Sports, Inc. to become the official apparel provider for the Highlanders.
 
NIKE will supply all of Radford's athletics programs with apparel, uniforms, footwear and additional equipment. The deal, which began Feb. 20, 2014, marks the first time RU has agreed to a department-wide contract with a company such as NIKE.
 
"As an athletics department, part of our mission is to enhance our brand and provide our student-athletes with the best opportunity to compete at the highest level," Executive Associate Athletics Director Randy Butt said. "By partnering with NIKE/BSN Sports, Inc., we have ensured all our athletics programs have the best apparel and equipment available with the No. 1 sports gear brand in the world."
 
Radford will immediately begin transitioning to all-NIKE apparel, with administration expecting this to be completed within the next year. Currently, only three of the Highlanders' athletics programs do not use NIKE as their apparel provider.
