RADFORD, Va. – Radford opens its outdoor track and field season Friday and Saturday at the Coastal Carolina Invitational, which will be hosted by the Chanticleers at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Competition commences Friday at 10 a.m. with the men's hammer throw. The women's 1,500-meter run is the first track event of the day at 11:30 a.m. Saturday's action also gets underway at 10 a.m., with the men's discus, women's shot put, women's high jump, men's pole vault ("B" flight) and women's 3,000-meter run.

Just five weeks before the 2014 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships (April 17-19 in Rock Hill, S.C.), student-athletes from six conference schools will go head-to-head this weekend. In addition to Radford, Big South members Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Liberty and UNC Asheville will be represented in Myrtle Beach.
