RADFORD, Va. – Conference championship season has arrived for Radford as the Highlanders head to Winthrop's Irwin Belk Track in Rock Hill, S.C. for the 2014 Big South Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which run Thursday-Saturday.

Action begins Thursday at 2 p.m. with the men's hammer and heptathlon 100-meter hurdles. The three-day meet is scheduled to conclude at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday with the men's 4x400-meter relay wrapping up the championship. A large portion of Saturday's events will be streamed live on the Big South Network at the link above. This will mark the second time Winthrop has hosted the Big South outdoor track and field championships and the first since 2008.

MASON SPRING INVITATIONAL RECAP
Teresa Williamson trimmed nearly one second off her program record in the women's 1,500. Placing 14^th in the event, Williamson ran a 4:31.65 to improve the program record she already possessed. She will enter the Big South outdoor championships as the top seed for the event based on her time.

Also notching a Top-5 time in program history was Ryan Farnan, who completed the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:38.93 to take 11^th. It was the fourth-best performance for the event in program history, and the best time from any Highlander this season.

BEST IN THE BIG SOUTH
Radford has the top time in two events per Big South rankings entering the championships. Below are the individuals garnering first place:

Vincent Wyatt: men's 110-meter hurdles (13.67)
Teresa Williamson: women's 1,500-meter run (4:32.43)

Two more Highlanders to watch this week are Kaleice Green and Ashlen Veatch. Both enter as the No. 3 seed in the long jump and hammer throw, respectively.
