CARY, N.C. – Patrick O'Keefe knocked off No. 4 seed Jerry Lopez of Kentucky in the consolation final of the Duke Fab Four blue draw Sunday as the Radford men's tennis team concluded competition at the Blue Devils' season-opening tournament.
With the win, O'Keefe finished the event with a 3-1 ledger, drawing praise from Radford head coach Mike Anderson.
"Patrick had a heck of a tournament. To go 3-1 against the competition he faced is a great way to start his senior season. But I'm not just pleased with Patrick. We played well as a team down here. To come here with only one week of practice and to perform the way we did has me optimistic about our team's potential."
The Highlanders' next tournament will be the UVa Fall Classic, which is scheduled for Oct. 3-5 in Charlottesville, Va.
