
THROWERS OPEN DAY ONE OF THUNDERING HERD INVITE

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ---- Radford's throwers competed on day one of competition at the Thundering Herd Invite in Huntington, W.Va. Ashlen Veatch led the Highlanders with a mark of 15.95m (52-03.25) in the weight throw.
Veatch's distance of 15.95m (52-03.25) took 10th overall. Emmalene Hale recorded a throw of 13.64m (44-07.50) to finish in the top 20 of the meet. Naihla Rose-Delia was the final thrower of the night for the Red and White, tallying a distance of 13.43m (44-00.75).
After having competitors in only the weight throw on day one, the Highlanders will have a full slate tomorrow starting at 9 a.m. with the women's high and long jumps. Running is scheduled to begin at approximately noon with the 60-meter hurdle prelims.
The invitational will conclude around 5 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relay. Radford's day on the track will come to a close in the 200-meter dash with Shantel Jones. Jones turned in a season-best 27.47 in the event on Dec. 4 at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invite.
